Anna Lipinski

LPCC, LADC-S

Anna is a skilled professional with a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota’s Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) program. Holding active licenses as both an Alcohol & Drug Counselor and a Professional Clinical Counselor, Anna brings a wealth of expertise to her work. Additionally, she is recognized as a BBHT-approved LPC/LPCC and LADC supervisor, demonstrating her commitment to ongoing professional development and mentorship.

Historically, Anna has provided direct client care with male-identifying clients in residential and outpatient settings. Anna is dedicated to providing personalized, Person-Centered Care. Her approach emphasizes empowering clients to cultivate independence and autonomy, ultimately enhancing their quality of life. Anna’s practice also incorporates exploration of The Self, fostering self-awareness and personal growth on both internal and external levels.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Anna finds joy in spending time with loved ones, exploring new destinations through travel, and exploring new restaurants.

Lulu Sveen

LGSW, LADC

Lulu graduated with her Master of Social Work from St. Catherine University in May 2025 and holds dual licensure as a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). She is currently pursuing clinical licensure under the supervision of Kristine Lynam, LICSW, PMH-C, and Anna Lipinski, LPCC, LADC. Lulu previously served as Client Access Coordinator at Elite Recovery, where she supported clients with billing and treatment coordination needs, and now brings her dedication and lived experience to her clinical role.

She was selected by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) to participate in the Substance Use Disorders Education and Leadership Scholars (SUDEALS) Program, a national initiative preparing future leaders in the field. Lulu is deeply committed to social work values and approaches each client interaction with authenticity, respect, and a strengths-based perspective.

Lulu’s practice is grounded in a person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach. She integrates motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and narrative therapy to help clients develop practical coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and build self-awareness. Her style emphasizes collaboration, authenticity, and dignity—empowering clients to define their own goals, uncover resilience, and strengthen self-worth. She specializes in working with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, and is committed to supporting clients in creating sustainable recovery and meaningful life change.

As a person in long-term recovery, Lulu’s professional path is deeply informed by her personal journey, which continues to inspire her passion for helping others. Recovery has given her the opportunity to embrace her roles as a wife and mother. Outside of work, Lulu enjoys spending time with her husband, their 4-year-old son, and their pug, Gertie. Together, they spend time outdoors, visit parks and museums, and take neighborhood walks.

Erin Malkow

MSW, LICSW, LADC

Erin received her Masters degree in Social Work from Augsburg University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with focused experience supporting adults as they navigate the complexities of mental health and substance use concerns.

Erin works from a client-centered, strengths-based perspective, honoring your values, autonomy, and lived experiences.

Erin believes that recovery is not a one-size-fits-all journey and that real, lasting change begins with your own voice, values, and goals. Change also happens when people are truly seen, heard and supported.

Anna Jensen

LGSW, LADC

Anna is a licensed graduate social worker and licensed alcohol and drug counselor with 4 years of experience providing direct care in mental health and substance use settings. Anna initially earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Since then, Anna has held roles as a mental health practitioner, BHH case manager, ARMHS worker, research coordinator, and psychometrist. Anna then completed her master's degree in social work at Augsburg University while concurrently earning her LADC through their dual-licensure program.

Anna chose to work in mental health because of her deep passion for supporting others in their pursuit of a healthier life. She believes that everyone deserves access to quality mental health care and is honored to walk alongside clients through all of life's challenges. With her experience as an LADC, Anna is aware of the unique challenges that individuals with co-occuring disorders face and the complexity that comes with addiction. Anna uses a strengths-based, client-centered lens to help her clients realize their inherent value, along with a holistic approach to emphasize the role that mental, physical, and spiritual health play in clients' overall wellbeing.

Dietrich Anderson

LPCC, LADC

Welcome! Seeking therapy is a courageous and meaningful first step, and I’m here to support you on that journey. As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), and Board-Certified Supervisor with over 11 years of experience in clinical settings, I bring a compassionate, direct, and client-centered approach to our work together.

I have a special interest in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma. My approach is holistic and trauma-informed, focusing on the whole person and honoring your unique path toward healing. Together, we’ll explore past experiences, family dynamics, healthy boundaries, meaning and purpose, and even consider how factors like nutrition, exercise, and sleep habits may be impacting your emotional well-being.

My therapy style is client-centered and integrative. I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Interrelational Trauma Therapy, Family Systems, CBT, Adlerian Therapy, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, and other skills-based interventions tailored to your needs. This flexible, trauma-informed framework allows us to build a healing path that truly fits you.

I have deep compassion and respect for people from all walks of life and am committed to providing an inclusive, culturally responsive space. I have experience working with men, women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, Indigenous communities, and culturally diverse populations, and I recognize the importance of identity, community, and cultural background in the therapeutic process.

Patrick Johnson

MS, MSW, LADC, LICSW, RDN, LD

Patrick earned his Master of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Minnesota in St. Paul, and his Master of Social Work from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He is passionate about providing a holistic approach to recovery by integrating components of mental health, physical activity, addiction counseling, and nutrition education into improving overall wellness. Patrick worked with people struggling with Eating Disorders at The Emily Program, and as a Diabetes Educator in a non-profit community clinic prior to entering into the field of substance abuse treatment in 2019.

Zahea Manasra

MS, LADC, LPCC Candidate

Zahea holds a Master’s degree in Co-Occurring Disorders and Recovery Counseling from Metropolitan State University. She is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a pre-licensed mental health therapist with specialized experience supporting adults facing the complex challenges of mental health and substance use.

Rooted in the belief that everyone has the capacity to lead a full and meaningful life, regardless of their past, Zahea is dedicated to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. She uses evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build skills, increase resilience, and make sustainable, empowering changes in their lives.

Brian Whitson

LADC

Brian graduated from Metro State with a BA in Organizational Communications in 2000 and recently completed the substance use disorder baccalaureate program at Metro State. While attending Metro State, Brian worked as an addiction technician at RCCS and ADC-T at Cedar Ridge inpatient treatment center. Brian has found his passion in life supporting individuals struggling with addiction. Providing comprehensive knowledge of evidence based treatment including individual and group therapy with compassion, honesty and empathy. Brian is a strong advocate for addiction awareness and prevention, actively participating in community programs and delivering presentations to share his experience, strength and hope. Brian plans to continue working toward becoming an LPCC. Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and three children eating good food, traveling, exercising and walking their two dogs.

Steven Schromen

Graduated in 2015 from the University of Dubuque in Business Administration, working in the Harley-Davidson field as a floor/sales manager until my journey into recovery in 2023. Currently in the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School master’s program for Addiction Counseling.

In October 2023, I moved to Saint Paul to begin a life in recovery and a new chapter in life. The motivation to enter a career in mental health and recovery came from inspiration from clinical counselors who supported my decision to change and become the best version of myself!
