Physical Health & Nutrition Support in Recovery
Recovery involves more than addressing substance use—it also requires restoring physical health and building sustainable wellness habits. Elite Recovery’s Health Promotion Services support these goals by helping clients understand how nutrition, medical health, and lifestyle habits impact recovery.
Integrated into our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), these services are led by experienced medical and nutrition professionals, including Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs). Our Health Promotions Team provides practical education, screenings, and individualized support to help clients strengthen the physical foundation of long-term recovery.
These providers work closely with your mental health and substance use treatment team to ensure care is coordinated, comprehensive, and personalized.
What We Offer
All clients enrolled in IOP at Elite Recovery participate in 60-minute Health Promotion groups, including Nutrition Education and Medical Education. These sessions are led by licensed professionals with extensive experience supporting individuals in recovery, chronic disease management, and health-related behavior change.
These groups focus on improving health literacy and providing practical strategies to help clients better care for their bodies during recovery.
Comprehensive Health Screenings
Each client enrolled in IOP completes a structured screening process to identify key medical and nutrition-related needs early in treatment. These screenings help inform individualized treatment planning and ensure that clients receive the appropriate level of support.
Screenings may include:
-
Health history and medical review
-
Nutrition screening (SCOFF and EAT-26) and dietary assessment
-
Medication and physical health review
Early identification of health concerns allows our team to coordinate care and connect clients with the right support at the right time.
Individual Health & Nutrition Support
While participating in IOP, clients also have the option to meet one-on-one with members of the Health Promotions Team for personalized guidance and consultation.
These sessions allow clients to explore individual health concerns, develop practical strategies, and receive support tailored to their specific needs and recovery goals.

Why This Matters in Recovery
Your physical health plays an important role in emotional and mental stability. Poor nutrition, unmanaged medical conditions, and chronic stress on the body can make recovery more challenging.
Our Health Promotions Team helps clients reconnect with their bodies, develop sustainable health habits, and gain confidence in managing their overall wellness—with education, support, and compassion.
