The Buffalo House Sober Living in St. Paul

The Buffalo House opened in February 2000. In 2010 the house started a complete interior restoration that was completed in 2012. It’s size sets it apart from other homes with 10,000 square feet, 25 beds, 6 bathrooms and 10 off-street parking spots. Most of the rooms are large singles.


  • Regularly work with a sponsor
  • Must be sober for 30 days or just completed a sober program
  • Attend a minimum of 4 outside AA/NA meetings each week
  • Hold a weekly service commitment to AA/NA and other community volunteer activity are encouraged
  • Be accountable for a house chore
  • Attend a once-weekly house meeting followed by Big Book study group
  • Work, attend school, or volunteer for at least 30 hours each week
  • Mandatory 20 min weekly accountability check in with program director for the first 30 days and bi-weekly for the second 30 days
  • Continually demonstrate a desire to grasp and develop a healthy sober life
  • Minimum of a two month stay required
